Birth Info

What is Birth Photography?

Birth Photography is the unique opportunity to have a professional photographer present at your birth to document and preserve this incredible experience. It is NOT having a camera zoomed in you know where waiting for babies arrival, yikes. It is about capturing your whole experience wherever and however it takes place. From the waiting, the encouraging, the tears, pain and silent moments in between to when your precious baby is placed in your arms and you finally get to see them face to face. It is capturing your expression the moment you first see your little one, their first breath, grandparents and siblings being introduced and you, falling in love. It is the most important day of your babies life and an opportunity to remember the moments you may have forgotten, forever. This is birth photography.

How much does it cost?

The birth experience is an all inclusive fee. It includes the coverage of your birth and all your images on a CD. You will receive approximately 100 images, usually more and they will mainly be black and white. You will also receive a slideshow of your images set to music and a lovely coffee table album.

When should I book?

It is best to book as soon as you can. I take only one due date per month so that I am completely available around your due date. The earlier the better!

Will we meet before the big day?

Absolutely. I would love to take you out for lunch around the beginning of your third trimester to talk about your birth plan and how your pregnancy is going. This is a chance for me to get to know you so that you are comfortable knowing me when the big day arrives.

It’s TIME! When do I call?

I will make sure you have all the information you need well before your due date. Phone numbers, when to give the heads up, etc…

The Birth.

During your birth I will stay completely out of the way. I will not be using a flash or anything else that may be intrusive. I am there to document your experience as it happens.

What if I have a c-section?

Every birth experience no matter how it happens is just as wonderful. It is unlikely I will be able to go into the operating room but I will give your support person a camera to use if they wish and process those images along with everything else.
